I am a Physiotherapist specialised in Pain Management. Chronic pain affects 30% of the population with many people continuing to suffer as their pain cannot be “pinned down” to a definite cause. Pain Management focuses on understanding the subtleties of how the nervous system and the immune system can develop changes in the way they respond to input and set of danger alarm signals felt as pain.
I am focused on combining pain management and rehabilitative skills to empower patients and help them return to valued activities and improve their quality of life.
I am one of the directors of the Train Pain Academy which focuses on teaching medical professionals about pain and I teach courses on Pain management tools; the use of exercise to manage pain and how to communicate effectively with your patient.
